Here are the 10
Best Free Resources for Graphic Designers 2022 where you can download free mockups, free stock images, free vector files, free illustrations, free sound, and free videos. As a designer of any kind: graphic designer, UI/UX designer, web designer, print designer, motion graphics designer, or illustrator, it is really helpful to have access to some awesome design resources that are free to help creatives do their jobs better.
Hello creative people and welcome back. In this post, I'm going to tell you about 10
free design resources to help inspire you and make your design process easier. Now, something that is crucial to designers, when you are submitting a design to a client is having a mockup.
As well as when you're putting together your portfolio. To actually display how awesome your designs are in the most attractive way. And that's why I want to tell you about three great free mockup sites. That you can use when you're on a tight budget there are some awesome paid ones as well of course.
MOCKUP SITES:
They have everything from iPhones signs, Bottles, Magazines and Books to Business cards, Banners, and Packaging. You can just download it and use it on your own presentations. You can obviously upgrade and get access to all their products. But they have over 500 free mockups that you can use for free.
Then there is
Pixelbuddha.net who has a whole free download section for psd mockups,
photoshop actions, patterns, vectors, icons, and templates which are very nice quality. They also have a whole educational resource section on their site with helpful articles for creatives. Then a paid section where there's a bunch of more psd mockups, graphics, photoshop actions, templates, textures, and brush packs. They even have a membership where you can pay a 5$ per month fee and gain access to even more creative resources.
The final of the three mockup sites I want to tell you about is
Mockups-Design.com. They have some great quality mockups completely for free. They have
flyers and brochures in all shapes and sizes
Business cards, books stationery, packaging, apparel, and more. On the site, they state that you can display and present any of the mockups in any way you want. However, you can't resell them. But for most designers, we only need them for presentation in our own portfolio and to clients. So it works out well.
FONT DETECTION:
When you see a font you love
myfonts.com has a free and easy to use feature called what the font. With this, you can actually
upload an image of the font in question and it's going to pull up all fonts that are similar to that it has detected. Now sometimes to be honest I find it isn't 100% accurate. But it gets you really close to the one you're looking for. And it can be really helpful when you want something similar. But not necessarily exactly that.
STOCK SITES:
Now to get into free stock sites that have great quality images with commercial use capabilities. I'm going to give you four to choose from that I love.
The first of these is
vecteezy.com. They have two sides to their library vector and stock photos and videos. They do require attribution for their free downloads but you don't have to pay anything. If you want to remove the attribution they require you join their pro plan.
If you're looking for more quirky and uniquely silly photos
Gratisography.com is another free stock photo site. That you can download at no cost and with no attribution. They make their money through ads for Shutterstock. They also have some great vector files that can be downloaded as eps files.
Rawpixel.com is another stock image site that has illustrations, stock, PNGs and public domain images. They have premium options as well. That forward 10% of the funds from this option towards a charity called hope for children. That helps support a happy childhood for children all over the world.
Pixabay.com has a great selection of free stock imagery. That is a nice quality and does not require attribution even for commercial use. They make their money by advertising istock and allowing other marketers to place ads on their site. Another great feature is they don't just have photos. But they have illustrations, vectors, videos, music and sound effects free for commercial and personal usage.
Then I do love
Unsplash.com. Because of the unstock-like imagery they provided. But I find that a lot of the photos get used over and over again in different blogs and sites. So you just have to be aware of that.
COLOR SITE:
Now for those of you who love brand identity and figuring out color schemes for designs and illustrations. There is a site called
Coolors.co and you can create color palettes as well as get inspired by ones that work well or are trending in the design world.
You can actually upload a picture that you love the colors of and it is going to automatically generate the color palette from this. It will not only create the palette, but it's going to provide you with all the different color codes. That you need to use you can then export it for yourself.
VECTOR SITE:
The final site I want you to know of is
Flaticon.com which has some great vector icons and stickers for free. These come in png, svg, eps, or psd. Some of their icons are only free for personal use. But then others can be downloaded free for commercial purposes as well as long as you just give attribution.
